Dino at our Family Concert

Sunday 14th May 2023 was our fifth concert with a very special visitor. ChromaMusic orchestra and choir were joined by the cello club and flute ensemble for a family concert playing Disney classics and film music to a church full of family and friends.

The afternoon kicked off with the orchestra playing our rendition of the Hungarian Dance by Brahms, a favourite. Then we continued with Marvels Avengers Infinity War Theme tune, followed by Zadok the Priest by Handel( Coronation Anthem to celebrate King Charles the Third coronation) and then Theme from New World Symphony by Dvorak.

The choir then sang Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious from Mary Poppins and A Whole New World from Aladdin with Danielle Lake singing the first verse beautifully.

The Flute ensemble created from the orchestra then played Humoresque by Dvorak, Somewhere over the Rainbow and Beauty and the Beast.

The first half was finished with a Sound of Music medley singalong with Donna and we all joined in.

After the interval, the cello club opened with Some Day My Prince will Come from Snow White and All I ask of you from Phantom of the Opera.

The Community choir returned and sang two more Disney songs with I see the Light from Tangled and Bare Necessities from Jungle Book with a certain special guest popping in.

The orchestra then returned to play the Doctor Who Theme, with an excellent electronic arrangement by one of our past cellist, Lloyd.

Our next piece was Jurassic Park Main theme by John Williams and Dino, our special visitor joined the children and danced at the back and in the aisle along to his favourite song.

The orchestra then played Under the Sea from Little Mermaid and finished their part with a rendition of the Doctor Who Theme again.

It was a great afternoon with over 80 people enjoying the music and singing.

Thank you to everyone who helped out with the refreshments, the parking, sound and tidying up at the end. We are looking forward to our next performance which will be towards the end of the year.
